ABOUT ME
Hello, I'm Trina.
My mission is to help curious, engaged, pregnant individuals prepare for the transformation of birth through education, resources, self-reflection and exploration and… feel good in the process!
I am a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and experienced Birth Doula, with advanced training in Lactation. When you work with me, you can expect warmth, honesty, and support. As a doula and an educator, I am passionate about whole-heartedly supporting you through your process of preparing for birth and parenthood and holding space for the many ways this process unfolds.
There is a quote by Ram Das that I love that says, “We are all just walking each other home.” For me, home is in our bodies, in our hearts, and in our families. I believe that with support, all birthing people can feel loved through their transformation – they can seek their biggest selves, discover home and bravery from within, and welcome their babies into this world with love.
As a doula and educator, I am skilled and prepared to support you with physical and emotional comfort measures and natural pain coping techniques as well as evidence-based educational support throughout pregnancy, birth, and early postpartum. I have a movement background and my training as a prenatal yoga teacher equips me with a deep understanding of anatomy, ways to support and balance our bodies, and methods of connecting with our breath as a tool. I also bring my knowledge and practice of Reiki into my birth work, providing relaxation and comfort. My advanced training in Lactation allows me to educate my clients prenatally to help their first weeks of parenthood and feeding a new baby get off to the best start possible.
Through my career, I have had the honor of supporting over 100 families welcome their babies in the birth room, and well over 400 families prepare through various classes I have taught. Each family is unique and I love meeting people exactly where they are at and learning about what is most important to each individual in this journey. I encourage this through open conversation, non-judgement, curiosity and trust. I trust that you know yourself the best, and I am here to offer information, guidance, and inquiry to support you in birthing your baby your way.
I am originally from New England, but have enjoyed my transplant to Portland. I love connecting with my clients over their favorite trails, restaurants, and good books they are reading or favorite podcasts. And of course, I love to share my many adventures with my rescue dog, Ember.
